Putter Chaos Adventure Golf, Middlesbrough

📍Putter Chaos Adventure Golf Middlesbrough

52 Wilson Street, TS1 1JA

This review was from a visit in August 2023

We got the train from Darlington. It’s a 5 minute walk located in the Dundas Shopping Centre & Indoor Market. The entrance can be difficult to spot at first as it’s a fire exit, but instructions are provided on the confirmation so check this if unsure.

There were 18 holes and it was good fun, some were fairly tricky (as you can see from our score card!). The toilet one was a bit different and unusual, but a good set up I thought! There are different themes that you play through including boutique beach, iconic industrial, clubbing chaos, our town, rainforest ruins and our overall favourite area which was arcade adventure. A lot of the items used are upcycled/discarded materials, so the sustainability effort here is great!

There’s a seating area and a bar for drinks (including alcohol), and there was a room with a pool table free to use and beer ping pong set up, which would be good for a group of friends. This was also where the toilets could be found.

We really enjoyed the challenges this golf course provided and the effort that had been put into the different themes.

I will point out though that other than the arcade adventure room which was lit up, it was quite dark to see where the holes or edges of the course were, particularly if your sight isn’t the best. It could definitely benefit from some floor lighting along the sides of the courses, I think it would actually enhance if aesthetically too.

I also wouldn’t say it’s that suitable if you have mobility issues due to the dark room and navigating round the courses, and especially if you need to use a wheelchair as there are only stairs leading up to it. Stef managed with his crutches but it was a bit tricky and with the combination of the warm day and the dark room it did mean he needed a rest when we were playing. The kids helped out and took over on a few his turns for him 😊

Overall, this was one of my favourite adventure golf course set ups for indoors that I’ve been to. It was fun and a bit challenging and we would definitely consider going again, especially if a bit more lighting was added, but still having the intended atmosphere.
